A plane was seen flying low over Oxford last night (May 31) making a ‘very unusual’ sound.
The aircraft circled several times in the area to the west of Oxford, turning around near Kidlington.
One eyewitness said: “I am ex RAF and am familiar with the kind of sounds that aircraft from Brize Norton, Bicester and Kidlington make when flying low over Oxford.

“However, last night about 8pm, I heard what sounded like a high-performance propeller driven plane flying very low over Summertown.
“It sounded very unusual - and very low.
"I wasn’t quick enough to get outside to catch a glimpse of the aircraft, but I heard it make two passes over Summertown, and then another to the west of Summertown within the space of half an hour or so.”
Another witness added: “The plane flew over the house low twice. Looks like the landing gear is damaged and bent on the front.”
