A decision is yet to be made by the planning inspectorate on Jeremy Clarkson’s appeal to expand Diddly Squat Farm, despite the hearing taking place several weeks ago.

The former Top Gear star is challenging West Oxfordshire District Council’s rejection of a car park and restaurant at the farm in Chadlington.

The hearing took place at the Woodgreen offices in Witney on March 14 and 15.

Mr Clarkson chose not to attend the hearing but his land agent Charlie Ireland, known as ‘Cheerful Charlie’ to Clarkson’s Farm fans, spoke on the second day of the hearing.

Back in March, the planning inspectorate told the Oxford Mail that the appeal could take a ‘number of weeks’ and that it was not ‘certain’ when a decision would be made.

A planning inspectorate spokesman said: “The time taken by an inspector to deliver an appeal decision will vary for a number of reasons including the type of case, duration of the hearing and the amount of evidence presented and can take a number of weeks.”
