Peter Barnshaw stole the show with a hat-trick of wins at the Oxfordshire Schools' Track & Field Championships at Tilsley Park, Abingdon.
Representing the Vale of White Horse, he demonstrated his versatility by starring in the under 15 boys' events.
He won the 400m with an English Schools' entry standard time of 54.5secs, and also took the 75m hurdles in 12.6 and the high jump with a clearance of 1.68m.
The championships were notable for Oxford City failing to field a team as they were unable to find a team manager.
But despite their absence there were still plenty of fine performances.
Kirsty Warland (South) stormed home in the under 17 girls' 80m hurdles.
The 16-year-old Wheatley Park youngster posted a national standard time of 11.6.
A gold medallist at the English Schools' Championships at Gateshead in 2006, she will go for glory again at this year's event at the north-east venue on July 11 and 12.
Melissa Hawtin (North) is also set to head for Gateshead after returning an entry time of 4mins 44.7secs.
The 15-year-old, from Gosford Hill, Kidlington, was sixth in the nationals at Birmingham 12 months ago, but steps up an age group this time.
South's Rebecca Hussey, a 100m semi-finalist at Alexander Stadium last year, warmed up for another crack at the championships with a sprint double.
The 15-year-old from Lord Williams's, Thame, took the 100m in 12.8 and the 200m in an entry standard time of 25.8, but, like Hawtin, will face older rivals this time.
In the under 15 girls' events, South's Jemma Gregory was an easy winner of the 75m hurdles in 12.5 and the 200m in 26.2 - an entry standard.
North's Connie McMillan also impressed with a track double.
The North Oxfordshire Academy teenager recorded 2.31.6 to take the 800m and 5.02.9 for the 1,500m.
In the under 19 girls' competition, North's Cathy Butler recorded an entry standard of 25.7 to take the 200m.
Vale's Phillipe Essink was another double winner.
The 16-year-old from European, Culham, took the 400m in 52.1 from North's James Wright, and then triumphed in a quality 800m with 1.59.2 from North's Stuart Ferguson, who posted 2.01.5.
Wright, from Marlborough, Woodstock, notched his own double in the field events by taking the triple jump with a qualifying leap of 13.17m and the long jump with 5.94m.
North's Jacob Wilson took the 100m in 11.5.
North also won four of the five relays, which contributed to their overall team triumph.
Youngsters from Oxford missed out on competing at the Oxfordshire Schools' Track & Field Championships with the city association unable to find a team manager.
City, whose athletes have struck gold at the English Schools' Championships in recent years, would normally have fielded a 100-strong team.
In a concession, county officials allowed those City athletes who have posted performances close to English Schools' Athletics Association (ESAA) qualifying to take part.
But otherwise City youngsters missed out.
Oxfordshire Schools' Athletics Association committee member Clive Wrench said it was an unfortunate situation.
In a statement, he added: "City failed to nominate a team manager and the schools failed to offer any help on the day despite emails to heads and other interested parties.
"In the interests of the more able athletes in the city, we allowed those very close to the (ESAA) qualifying to compete, but otherwise we await some commitment to the support and the event from the City schools in order to give other athletes the same opportunities as those from the other areas."
