Hundreds of runners were sprayed with paint at Witney's annual Colour Run.
The runners, who were given white T-shirts and dark glasses, limbered up with a warm-up by Ali and Chloe from Spin-Boxx before Town Crier Jean Postlethwaite Dixon, arrived with minutes to spare having been delayed by the roadworks on Bridge Street.
The Master of Ceremonies, Rotarian Mark Baker, kept the runners exercising until Witney’s new deputy mayor Georgia Meadows counted down to the start and blew the air horn.
Runners, including MP Robert Courts's family, were bombarded with clouds of orange, red, blue and yellow paint while Mr Courts threw yellow powder from one of the three ‘paint stations’ along the 5km course.
Afterwards every entrant collected a medal and enjoyed drinks and bacon and sausage sandwiches on the Witney Rugby Club terrace.
Witney Rotary thanked Abbott Diabetes Care and Witney Town Council, Wood Green Interact, Windrush Radio, Witney Photo Group and Witney Rugby Club "for providing the venue and letting us throw coloured paint all over it".
Rotary president Ron Spurs said: “This is a community fun run where people of all ages come to enjoy themselves.
"Some runners were sponsored and, we understand, many hundreds of pounds were raised by them for local charities."
