Roger Brown has written a letter about the cost of garden waste collection in Oxford.
Regarding Mr Allardyce's letter of May 15, it now costs £75 per year for garden refuse collection.
When I received the notification of the previous increase I cancelled the service and started composting my grass cuttings, hedge trimmings etc. I suggest others follow suit.
In general the brown bin is only used four times a year as there is no growth in winter.
At the new rate this equates to £18.75 per collection.
I would like to point out to the council this increase means that they will lose money by pricing themselves out of the market.
I suppose we could always dump our grass cuttings in those nice planters blocking some of the roads in the city.
