Thames Valley Police officers were seen at the recreation ground yesterday (May 18) and an Oxford City Council spokesman told the Oxford Mail that the eviction was being progressed.
Last night, Marston councillor Mary Clarkson confirmed that the travellers had vacated the site.
She added that a clean-up effort by the council would begin today.
Police told the Oxford Mail on Monday (May 15) that one count of criminal damage had been reported after the recreation ground lock was broken to gain entry to the site.
