A new set of cabinet appointments has been confirmed for 2023/2024 in the city council.
The new cabinet appointments were announced at the annual council meeting on Wednesday.
Councillor and leader of Oxford City Council Susan Brown said she was “pleased to welcome the new cabinet which includes new as well as returning members”.

She said: “I was delighted to announce this year’s cabinet appointments at the council’s annual meeting.
“Oxford City Council’s cabinet will continue to deliver our key strategic priorities, as well as meeting our manifesto promises and reflecting the needs and wishes of Oxford’s citizens and businesses- enabling an inclusive economy, supporting thriving communities and delivering more affordable housing”.
Ms Brown also pledged to tackle homelessness and achieve a zero-carbon Oxford.
She added: “I am pleased to welcome the new cabinet which includes new as well as returning members.
"I would also like to thank members who served last year for their commitment and efforts in ensuring Oxford is such a great place to live and work.”
The cabinet members are:
- Councillor Susan Brown, leader and cabinet member for inclusive economy and partnerships
- Councillor Ed Turner, deputy leader (statutory) and cabinet member for finance and asset management
- Councillor Chewe Munkonge, deputy leader and cabinet member for leisure and parks
- Councillor Shaista Aziz, cabinet member for safer communities
- Councillor Nigel Chapman, cabinet member for Citizen Focused Services and Council Companies
- Councillor Jemima Hunt, cabinet member for culture and events
- Councillor Anna Railton, cabinet member for Zero Carbon Oxford and
- Climate Justice Councillor Ajaz Rehman, cabinet member for inclusive communities
- Councillor Linda Smith, cabinet member for housing
- Councillor Louise Upton, cabinet member for planning and healthier communities
