East Oxford residents are being invited to have their say about plans to charge people to park outside their homes.
Hundreds of consultation documents have been delivered to houses in the Divinity and Magdalen Road areas.
It is planned to introduce residents' parking across large sections of East Oxford - and people are being asked how they think it should be brought in.
Three options are outlined, with parking on one or both sides of roads, or staggered.
Householders are also being asked whether parking should be allowed on pavements - as is currently permitted in Ferry Road, Marston.
They are also being asked what times the zones should operate and whether there should be a limit on the number of permits, priced at £40 each.
Philippa Elms, 64, from Howard Street, feared the scheme could make things worse.
She said: "Where are the cars which normally park there going to go?
"We have got two cars and there is no way we can ever park outside our house already.
James Styring, 40, of Southfield Road, is chairman of cycling group Cyclox. He said: "Speed is a big concern, so I would want to see the issue high up in any plans.
"If you had parking on alternate sides of the road that would create a natural chicane which would stop people speeding."
