Sir - There is currently a lot of debate about whether we should have a 20mph limit across the whole of Oxford, including the main roads.
We know that it would cut road accidents, make our streets more pleasant and encourage more people to walk and cycle.
We also know that car journey times would scarcely increase.
Another important point is that it would be far cheaper to include the main roads, because we would need far fewer signs.
And think how ugly it would look if we had to have two new signs at each end of every little side street, where they lead to a main road.
