A householder was alerted to an attempted burglary by a loud banging noise and seeing a man's head appearing over the side gate.
There were tool marks on the gate and a window at the front of the house where there had been an attempted entry in King Alfred Drive in Didcot on Saturday, April 29.
According to police, the would-be thief was a white male with dark curly hair.

Thames Valley Police's priority crime team is now appealing for witnesses or information to the incident which happened between 12.45pm and 1pm.
