English rocker Peter Doherty gave a ‘mesmerising’ performance in Oxford last night as part of his first solo acoustic tour in ten years.
The co-frontman of the Libertines performed at the O2 Academy in Cowley Road as part of the Battered Songbook Tour, a series of intimate shows around the country.
One fan described it as one of the best performances he had ever seen at the venue.

Steve Wright said: “Seen many gigs on the Cowley Road in Oxford over the last 20 odd years but this has got to be one of the best. Pete Doherty was mesmerising.
He added: “Fantastic gig, a masterclass performance by Doherty and his guitar. Some old and some new tunes - a joy to be there and experience it.”
