The mystery of whether there are people living in a tented village near Witney has been explained.
Several motorists have glimpsed tarpaulins through the trees and questioned whether homeless people have created a campground in woods near a slip road off the A40.
In a thread of Witney Spotted, one concerned poster insisted: “There are people living there in tents.”
However, after some gentle mocking the truth about the 'encampment' has finally been revealed.
A chat group user wrote: “Too many people assume it’s people living in tents when it’s actually tarpaulins covering dirt jumps that have been built by people to be used with mountain bikes and BMXs."
A relieved driver replied: "Ha ha ha. I wondered about that as well, the first time I took that ramp off!"
Alongside several crying laughing emojis another wrote: "It’s a bike ramp park. Bloody good effort from the local youngsters that built it as well."
"Been there for years," added a third while more explained that kids have built a shelter in case it rains.
"Seems like it's OK but, lovely of you to be concerned," another commented.
