Fifty-four motorists were pulled over by police today in a two-hour operation targeting people who do not wear seatbelts.
Between 8am and 10am, roadside officers waved offending drivers into The Slade fire station, in Horspath Driftway, Oxford.
Motorists were given the chance to have their tickets waived if they watched an educational DVD and spoke to Oxfordshire County Council road safety officers and firefighters.
Of the 35 people pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt, 25 chose to listen to the safety talk.
Eight drivers were given tickets for using mobile phones, two had unreadable number plates, two had over-tinted windows, six were not in full control of their vehicle and one had no insurance.
