A dessert shop in Oxford will be converted into a hot food takeaway after planning permission was approved.
Lemon Garden in London Road, Headington, was given permission for the change of use by Oxford City Council, the planning authority.
The applicant is listed as Malk Nooruldeen and his plans were originally received by the council in October 2022.

The decision comes despite concerns from nearby residents about issues such as noise and odour pollution.
However, the planning officer said there were already similar takeaways in the area and that the current use of the business was not “materially different” from a takeway.
He said: “The site is situated within the Headington District Centre, which contains existing commercial uses including other restaurants, cafes and takeaways.
"In this respect the proposed use is not considered incompatible with the context.

“Given the district centre location, in themselves the comings and goings of customers and delivery drivers for the hot food takeaway are not considered to be materially different from those associated with other existing uses surrounding the site, or the existing use of the site as a former café and restaurant.”
There were also concerns about illegal parking to the front.
No public comments were posted on the city council's planning portal for the application.
