An Oxfordshire pub located near the Cotswolds has been handed a new five-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

The Harcourt Arms in Stanton Harcourt was given the maximum score after assessment on March 23, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means hygiene standards at the dog-friendly Main Road pub are deemed 'very good'.

The traditional pub has beams, log fires and flagged floors and is popular with locals.

The watering hole is located near the Cotswolds and is popular among ramblers and tourists in the summer season.

It also provides accommodation with a number of rooms for guests.

Of West Oxfordshire's 109 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 87 (80 per cent) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
