Since the beginning of March, mobile phone users have been warned that a siren would sound at 3pm today as part of a new public alert system.
While the alert worked for many, some said they received there’s early or late and others said their phone did not sound out at all.
Sarah Williams said it had “not gone off on my phone or my mates” even though she had the right settings for it to work and added “clearly our village isn’t important enough.”

Similarly, Karen Bannister said that "nothing happened here in Carterton."
However, Jane Jenkins said she was startled by the emergency alert, which is meant to warn the public if there is a danger to life nearby.
She said: “Both of my mobiles have just gone off at the same time and I was working, nearly leapt out my chair.”
Danielle Shepherd was in Aldi and said many shoppers were confused about what the alert was
She said she “didn’t jump but was in Aldi and everyone was wondering what the noise was, wasn’t loud at all.”

Alice Styles said she “was by my phone all day and then went in the kitchen and missed it” while Anne Platt said her alert was an “anti-climax” as it was not very loud and went off a minute early.
Trevor Bishop said: “In my family only me out of my wife and my son that received it. I’m on O2 and they are both on Three. What a shambles.”
Gemma Wheeler said her alert went off twice while Ken Field described his as a “bit of a failure” as it came through 20 minutes late.
