Oxford may be renowned for its high house prices – with the city third only behind London and Cambridge for the most expensive average property – but what does that money get you?

The most expensive house currently on the market in Oxford clocks in at nearly £6 million and is being sold by Knight Frank.

The £5.8 million house is on Linton Road, one of the most expensive in Oxford where another property is currently on the market for nearly £4 million.

The three-floor house features seven bedrooms – three of which are ensuite - four reception rooms and four bathrooms.

Built by Victorian and Edwardian architect Harry Wilkinson Moore in 1894, it retains many of the features of the period, including high ceilings, open fireplaces, original wooden flooring, a galleried staircase and large bay windows.
