Oxford University's Pitt Rivers Museum is to close for major refurbishment next month.
All public displays will close from Monday, July 7, until early spring next year.
Throughout the work, the museum's offices, research services and teaching facilities will continue to operate using the museum's southern entrance in Robinson Close.
The Oxford University Museum of Natural History, in front of the Pitt Rivers Museum, will remain open to the public.
During the refurbishment, display cases are being repositioned and a new entrance platform is being built to allow visitors to enter the Pitt Rivers on the same level as the Museum of Natural History.
A wider set of stairs will lead down into the Pitt Rivers' ground floor, with a platform lift to make access easier for wheelchair users and visitors with pushchairs.
