A determined angler reeled in a mirror monster after 'a tough session' at a local fishery.
James caught this 'chunky' mirror carp from Home Pond at Chad Lakes last week with a group of friends.
This 28lb 7oz fish was a 'personal best'.
Chad Lakes fishery near Chipping Norton runs a catch and release fishing scheme where several impressive carp have been banked.
The fish, a variety of the common carp, are named because of their scales' resemblance to mirrors.
They can grow in excess of 60lb (27 kg) – the last few British record fish have all been mirror carp.
In January determined angler Malcolm Tuckwell reeled in a 23lb fish at Chad Lakes after waiting patiently for 24 hours in the rain.
A spokesperson for the fishery said James' fish was "a nice size but not massive".
