With summer just around the corner, families will be looking to spend more time outdoors with the kids.

There are plenty of adventure playgrounds to explore in Oxfordshire.

Here are a list of some that would make for a great day out with the kids!

Tumblestone Hollow, Stonor Park, Henley

 

Tumblestone Hollow is a magical adventure playground consisting of treehouses and a mystical circle of standing stones.

The playground is at Stonor Park in Henley which is one of the oldest family homes in the country.

They run plenty of seasonal events for children such as Easter egg hunts.

There is also a pizza restaurant and other refreshments available at the park.

Blackthorn Play Park, Bicester

 

Located to the southeast of Bicester, this adventure playground has plenty of activities for children to enjoy.

There is a selection of zip wires, wobbly bridges and monkey bars.

The park is made of wood and there are lots of grass mounds for children to run up and down.

There is also lots of green space to enjoy a picnic on.

Abbey Meadows playground, Abingdon

 

This playground is huge, and it is set in the grounds right by the River Thames in Abingdon.

The site was built a couple of years ago and benefitted from a £320,000 investment.

The result was a brilliant playground for kids of all ages.

Older children can enjoy the wooden fort with net tunnels, monkey bars, climbing nets and challenging 4-person swinging equipment.

For toddlers there is an interactive sensory play area and baby swings.

Kilkenny Lane Country Park, Carterton

 

Located just four miles south west of Witney, this playpark in Carterton features a zip wire, trampolines and a sandpit.

Kilkenny Lane Country Park is set across 50 acres and is an ideal location for playing, walking or relaxing with a picnic.

Entry to the park is free.

The play area is sited at the western end of the park and has a small car park close by.

Exeter play park, Kidlington

 

Exeter play park is the biggest in Kidlington and was totally revamped in July 2018.

It features a netted climbing frame and also a double zip wire which runs down together.

The playground features a range of equipment which is suitable for children of all ages.

A particular favourite is the sandpit where kids can hunt for dinosaur bones.
