A man in his 20s was chased down a street and 'attacked' in the early hours of the morning by two masked people.
The incident occurred between 1.15am and 2.25am yesterday (April 18) in Barton along Fettiplace Road into Henry Taunt Close.
The assailants are described as wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.

After the attack, they drove off in a white saloon-style Audi.
The victim suffered a serious cut to his arm and was taken to hospital for further treatment.
He has since been discharged but requires further surgery.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Joe Woodham, based at St Aldate’s police station, said: “I understand this assault may be alarming but we believe it was a targeted attack with no wider threat to the public.

“We are investigating it as a priority and we will do everything we can to identify the offenders and bring them to justice.
“I am appealing for anyone with information about this assault to please come forward to assist our investigation.
“Also, please could anyone with CCTV cameras in the area or anyone with a dash-cam who was driving in the area at the time of the incident check their recordings in case they have captured anything which could help us.
"“There will be an extra police presence in the area while we investigate and I would encourage anyone with concerns to speak to a uniformed officer.”
