A new skatepark could replace the damaged ‘Botley Bowl’ under new plans submitted by North Hinksey Parish Council.
The original skate park at the Louie Memorial Playing Fields was destroyed in 2009 after a gang of thieves drove a car onto the site and set it alight.
The bowl was subsequently filled in.

Since then, there have been years of consultations and discussions over what should be done to restore the valuable community asset.
The council sent out a questionnaire to residents in 2011, and it approved plans for a proposed £1.2million regeneration of the area in 2018.
Now, it has applied to Vale of White Horse District Council to build a new reinforced concrete skatepark to replace the Botley Bowl.
A concept design has been created by CANVAS Spaces, a professional skatepark and public space design and construction company, which would “honour” the original bowl.
The new design would feature a bowl “of varying levels”, with a separate “street” section fit with low-level, low-speed obstacles, and a “mini-ramp” for beginners.
CANVAS, which is the planning agent for the application, said the new skate park would fulfil an important need for the community.
It said: “Consultation has found that the young people in the area have no dedicated facility of a suitable nature to allow them to use their skateboards, wheelchairs, scooters, skates or BMX bikes safely and appropriately.”
