Shell filling stations in Oxfordshire expect to be refuelled today as hundreds of tanker drivers resume work following four days of strike action.
At least four petrol stations in the county ran dry at the weekend, with Shell estimating that about eight per cent or Britain's petrol stations, including 249 of its own, were hit by shortages at the weekend.
Of the nine Shell stations in the county, four have run out of petrol and diesel.
They are London Road, Headington; Broadway in Didcot; London Road in Bicester and Chapel House Crossroads in Chipping Norton.
The Shell station on the A34 near Weston-on-the-Green has run out of diesel but expects to have enough unleaded to last until it receives a delivery tonight.
More than 600 drivers have threatened to strike again this weekend in a dispute over pay and pensions.
Tony Hallan, who manages the Shell petrol station in London Road, Headington, said: "We are still scheduled to get a delivery tomorrow but petrol stations at services always get replenished first. There will also be bigger stations that are a higher priority than us so I would forecast we will get our delivery in the afternoon."
