Businesses from across Oxfordshire are backing a brand new job fair for people in the county month.

The city centre event will be held at Oxford Town Hall on Tuesday, April, 18 organised by the Oxford Mail with support from partners Oxford City Council.

It will be a perfect chance for businesses and organisations to showcase their career opportunities to those looking for an apprenticeship or job, as well as those who are looking to find new skills or explore new horizons.

For employers, it provides a great platform to speak to residents and show off what your company has to offer.

Several employers have already announced they will be attending, including: Oxford City Council, Finders Keepers Letting Agents, Activate Learning, Soho House, 001 Taxis and Kids Plant Nurseries.

Others include the Bodleian Libraries, Ashmolean Museum, Jesus College, and Heythrop Park.

The fair has been organised by the Oxford Mail and OX1jobs.com and the main hall of the town hall has been used before to accommodate job fairs.

There is plenty of space for a large number of companies to set up their stalls so that staff can talk to jobseekers and provide them with information about how to apply for new roles.

Regional editor Andrew Colley said: “Jobseekers and businesses alike have used the Oxford Mail and OX1jobs.com over the years to advertise vacancies and find new opportunities.

“But now we’re going one step further in a bid to support the recruitment sector by hosting our own job fair in the city centre.

Oxford Mail:

“There’s no escaping from the fact times have been tough for a lot of people, but there’s a lot to be excited about in Oxfordshire and lots of opportunities to explore.

“Whether you are a business hoping to find a star recruit or a prospective employee looking for something new, don’t miss out on this great opportunity.”

The event will be held at Oxford Town Hall on April 18 from 10am to 5pm.

On the day, visitors will be able to meet representatives from the businesses in attendance and discuss the opportunities they have available. Whether you are a highly skilled individual or someone looking to retrain in another sector, these businesses will be on hand to advise exactly what they have to offer.
