Storm Noa will continue to bring strong wind gusts across Oxfordshire until later this week.

Winds have reached a high of 40mph today in Oxfordshire and will reach another high of 30mph at 8pm this evening.

Storm Noa has brought wind gusts to Oxfordshire and further rain showers are also expected.

There is a 50 per cent chance of rainfall this evening and tomorrow there will continue to be wind gusts which could reach a maximum of 30mph.

The wind gusts will roughly be in their low thirties throughout the day.

Temperatures are also expected to remain fairly low, with temperatures not exceeding 10C.

On Friday, wind gusts will return to a more normal speed and will only reach a maximum of 19mph.

The windy weather conditions are the result of a large Atlantic low pressure system.

Met Office Chief Meteorologist, Matthew Lehnert, said: “Most places will see showers or longer spells of rain today but the impacts are most likely to come from strong winds.

“Gusts between 50mph and 60 mph are possible quite widely in the southwest, with up to 75 mph in exposed coastal areas.

“Some disruption due to strong winds is expected in southern areas, particularly the south coast of Wales and southwest England.”

Persistent rain is expected on Friday but the weekend will be generally drier in Oxfordshire before the expected mini heatwave at the start of next week.
