Firefighters were forced to scramble to an Oxfordshire village after a garage caught alight.

Fourteen fire fighters rushed to a property in Charlton village, Wantage, on Saturday, April 8, after they received a report of a garage fire just after 8.30am.

Two fire engines from Didcot Fire station and two from Abingdon Fire Station were sent to the scene, where the fire had taken a significant hold on the property and there was a risk of spreading to the main house.

“They received precautionary checks by crews from South Central Ambulance Service and were allowed to return home.
