Boaters will be able to enjoy a pint and a punt if a boathouse is given permission to sell alcohol.
Magdalen Bridge Boathouse Ltd has applied to licensing authority Oxford City Council for a licence for the boathouse at The Old Horse Ford, Oxford, to sell alcohol for consumption on and off the premises between 9am and 9pm daily (hours of daylight only).
The boathouse underneath Magdalen College Tower provides punts, rowing boats or pedalos to hire for an hour or for as long as required as long as the boat is returned at least half an hour before sunset.
It also offers the choice of a chauffeured service with a highly experienced trained punter and a pre-ordered picnic hamper as well as hen party activities.
Anyone who wishes to object to the application must write to: The Licensing Authority, Oxford City Council, Town Hall, St. Aldates, Oxford, OX1 1BX or email licensing@oxford.gov.uk
