A voluntary litter picking group is calling for change after collecting rubbish from a layby which included sex toys, gas cannisters and McDonald’s packaging.

Bicester Litter Pickers made a trip to a layby next to Elmsbrook estate, near to Stoke Wood this week and ended up collecting 24 bags of rubbish.

Founder of the group, Jamie Jessett, said: “There were too many beer cans and glass bottles at this layby.

“There were sex toys too, condoms, gas cannisters, mobile phones and tyres; we could have filled at least another 30 to 40 bags.

“A lot of the rubbish can’t be reached either because it’s covered by all the overgrowth.”

Mr Jessett has been visiting schools, trying to educate and engage pupils on the topic of a clean environment.

So far he has been to Bardwell Primary School, St Edburg’s and in a few weeks will be speaking at Glory Farm School.
