Both carriageways of the M40 were closed today (April 2) as a group of males involved in 'high end criminality' stopped in lane 3 and ran across the fields on either side of the motorway.
The road was shut by police so that they could be apprehended safely.
The incident occurred between Junction 3 and Junction 4 of the motorway near High Wycombe at lunchtime today.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused on the M40 near #HighWycombe today. A group of males involved in high end criminality stopped in lane 3 and ran across fields on either side of the motorway. We needed to close both carriageways to apprehend them safely. #P0735 pic.twitter.com/Nd2L7dpNEC
