A footbridge over the River Thames has been closed for emergency repairs until potentially next month.
The Little Wittenham Bridge, which is downstream from Day’s Lock, is expected to reopen by April 6 at the latest.
The closure of the bridge, which connects Little Wittenham to Dorchester, will affect access routes over the river.

A statement from Long Wittenham Parish Council, which was informed of the closure by its footpath warden, said: “There is no alternative route, which means that it is not currently possible to walk from Little Wittenham to Dorchester, or to Days Lock and cross at the weir.”
The bridge is one of two used in the World Poohsticks Championships for the heats and is used as the bridge for the final of the event.
