An Oxford school has been graded as ‘Excellent’ by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
Headington Prep and Senior Schools were inspected in January by the government-approved organisation that judges private schools in England.
The team of 11 inspectors spent three days looking across the two independent girls' schools before providing their report.
They spoke to pupils and staff, looked at work and visited lessons, extra-curricular activities, form meetings, and assemblies as well as inspected facilities including the school’s boarding houses.
As well as receiving ISI’s highest possible judgement in all categories, the required regulatory standards were fully met.
Headmistress, Mrs Caroline Jordan said: “We are absolutely delighted with the report, which we feel really reflects what it’s like being at our wonderful school.
"It was fantastic to read from the inspectors about how our girls viewed their experiences at Headington.
"There was a genuine feeling that they were proud to be a part of our wonderful school and that they truly thrive in our care, feeling part of and contributing to our community.“
Head of prep, Mrs Jane Crouch said: “We were moved to see how enthusiastically the girls spoke about their experiences here; they are clearly flourishing in our care.
"I am so proud to lead Headington Prep now and into a bright future.”
