An Oxford undertaker is collecting Easter eggs in support of a local children’s hospice.

The S & R Childs Funeral Directors, which is part of end-of-life service provider, Dignity launched their annual Easter appeal several years ago to help distribute gifts to those in need in the local community.

Staff at the funeral directors are asking local businesses and organisations, community groups, and residents to donate Easter eggs or other chocolate gifts by March 31.

They will then be delivered to the children’s hospice, Helen & Douglas House ahead of the Easter weekend.

Funeral director, Sadie Morgan, said: “We hope that the local community will support us and help to make Easter an easier and more enjoyable time for children and families supported by Helen & Douglas House.

“Helen & Douglas House helps local families cope with the challenges of looking after a terminally ill baby or child. It’s a homely place and provides care in a warm, loving environment.

“Dignity colleagues across the country will help bring a smile to the faces of others that may not have been expecting an Easter egg and we’d like to do the same in our local area.”

“If you would like to donate, please visit S & R Childs Funeral Directors, which is located at 1 Courtland Road, Rose Hill, Oxford OX4 4HZ, between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, by March 31.”
