A BUSINESSMAN has angered residents by winching a mobile home off his roof - only to park it a few yards away on a forecourt.
It took 50 minutes for nine men to winch the 34-foot caravan off the roof of Computer Assistance in Cleveland Drive, Cowley, yesterday and spin it 180 degrees.
Residents were worried about the potential health and safety hazards of perching it on the flat roof without planning permission, and said it was an eyesore.
Oxford City Council served owner Ray Merony with a notice to remove the home from the roof - but residents who have been living next to the it since April are angry it has not been totally removed from the area.
Pat Chambers, whose front room looks directly at the mobile home, said: "It's been a pain in the butt. I want to see the back of it, not have it parked on the street. If you don't stop these things from happening who know where you're going to end up."
Mr Merony said: "It was a bit of fun. It was only ever meant to be there for a short while. The residents overreacted."
City council spokesman Chris Lee said: "We're investigating the new location of the caravan to see whether he needs planning permission to park it there or not."
