Tennis courts in two parks in Oxford are to be renovated after fresh investment from the council.
Tennis courts at Hinksey Park and Botley Park will receive a new lease of life after Oxford City Council formed a partnership with Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) which will see an investment of £100,000.
Work at the parks is due to start in late April 2023 and will be completed by the end of June.

However, members of the public will be charged a new fee of £7 to book the courts and under 17s will be charged £4.50.
Previously, these courts were free to book but the new charges, when introduced, aim to minimise no shows according to the council.
Currently, there are already charges in place for using the tennis courts at Alexadra Park, Bury Knowle Park, Florence Park and Cutteslowe Park.

Oxford City Council’s cabinet member for parks and leisure Chewe Munkonge said: “This investment will give us high quality all-weather courts, thanks to the LTA and Department for Digital, Culture, Media &Sport funding.
“We’re committed to providing Oxford’s residents with a range of different ways to be active, which is really important for good health.”
The project is part of a nationwide investment by the UK Government and LTA Tennis Foundation which aims to refurbish public tennis courts across the country.
Free tennis sessions will be available from Premier Tennis, who will organise weekly organised free park tennis sessions for all ages.
