A major road that flanks Oxford was closed in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, March 14) after a serious crash involving a pedestrian on Monday night.
The A34 was closed between the A420 at Botley and the A44 near the Peartree roundabout.

The National Highways website said: “Thames Valley Police led the response to a collision which occurred at approximately 11.27pm on Monday evening.
“Initial reports indicate the collision involves a pedestrian and serious injuries have been confirmed.
The #A34 in #Oxfordshire is closed north between the #A420 #Botley & the #A44 #PeartreeRoundabout near #Oxford due to a collision.@ThamesVP lead the response to this incident.

The road is expected to remain closed throughout the night.

“Thames Valley Police have closed the road to carry out collision investigations and this work is expected to continue throughout the night.
“National Highways have resources en route to assist with traffic management.”
The road was reopened at around 5.30am this morning (Tuesday, March 14).
