A car caught fire in Chilton near Didcot yesterday evening (March 8) causing the road to close.
Fire crews attended the incident at the Newbury Road roundabout at around 6pm.
They were alerted to the fire by a passing crew from South Central Ambulance Service who had noticed smoke coming from the vehicle.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue said in a post on Facebook: “On the arrival of crews from Didcot Fire Station the car engine compartment was found to be well alight.
“Firefighters with breathing apparatus quickly extinguished the fire using high pressure hose reels.”
The road was closed with the help of Thames Valley Police while the incident was brought under control.
The police also assisted with scene management and traffic control.
