Two kebab vans within a few miles of each other made the final of the star-studded British Kebab Awards.
Southmoor Kebab and Grove Kebab Van - 15 minutes away - were both in the running for Kebab Van of the Year at the revered industry event.
Southmoor Kebab Van is open on Faringdon Road off the A420 six days a week from 4pm to midnight, serving 'tasty food at excellent prices'.
Grove Kebab Van, next to the skatepark in Cane Lane, sells 'fresh and quality foods every day'.
The awards were held at the Park Plaza Hotel in London's Westminster on Tuesday night (28/2).
Spotted on the night were MPs Angela Rayner, Nadhim Zahawi, Steve Baker, Sajid Javid, and a host of media types and parliamentarians.
Organisers said: "Our local kebab takeaways and restaurants are the beating hearts of our high streets and now, more than ever, kebabs are becoming part of our daily lives.
"From once being seen as a humble late-night snack after a night out in town, they are now enjoying a glow-up and revolution as part of a sit-down meal with family and friends, as a quick healthy lunch or delicious takeaway on the way home from work."
This year's awards raised money for the Donate a Doner Campaign, providing relief after the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak sent a message, paying tribute to the winners and nominees and wishing them, and the industry, "my warm congratulations and every success for 2023.”
Wantage and Didcot MP David Johnston backed both vans.
He posted on Facebook: "It was good to go and visit them on Friday and wish them good luck - I hope either Southmoor or Grove wins!"
