An Oxfordshire football club has received increased recognition after it was sponsored by Diddly Squat Farm.

Chadlington Football Club in Northwest Oxfordshire featured in episode three of the hit series Clarkson’s Farm.

The club hosted a screening of season two in their club house on February 11.

 

Sponsorship of the club came after Jeremy Clarkson struggled to gain support for his farm among Chadlington residents.

Mr Clarkson said in the show: “If I was going to win over the village, I would need a much grander gesture.

“So I thought of one…

“Diddly Squat- sponsors of Chadlington Football Club.”

The first team players now have a new strip which features a tractor logo to represent Diddly Squat Farm.

 

Replicas of the shirts are currently being sold in store at the Diddly Squat Farm Shop or online.

Mr Clarkson was seen attending the first match where he was a sponsor of the team in the Amazon Prime Video series.

Chadlington FC took on Chadlington reserves and won comfortably.

It was also revealed in the episode that Clarkson’s Farm favourites Kaleb Cooper and Gerald Cooper once played for the football club.

Chadlington FC was established in 1912.

It has two men’s and 12 junior sides.

The men’s first side plays in the Witney and District Football Association Division One league.

The team is currently fifth in the table having won five out of the fifteen matches they have played this season.
