A group of Oxford cyclists is planning a quirky treasure hunt-style event to get more people on their bikes.
Oxford Cycle Workshop, based in Magdalen Road, has been organising the "alleycat cycle rides" for about two years - and is planning ever more unusual ways to capture the imagination of the public.
Tomorrow's event, which will also raise money towards a scheme to send disadvantaged teens to Bulgaria, will combine cycling with art - by getting people to customise their outfits at different stopping points.
Organiser Dan Harris said: "For us it is just a different way of getting people cycling and getting people excited about cycling.
"We would love to see some new faces. In the past it has been really diverse, we get people with wicker baskets on their bikes, people on tandems - it's not a race and you're not going to have to get kitted out in lycra. It's completely open to all."
The Oxford Art Attack Alleycat, which will start at the Lolapoluza in Blue Boar Street at 7.30pm, was thought up when the cycle workshop was given a box of unwanted disposable boilersuits and ride organisers decided to incorporate them into the next treasure hunt.
Mr Harris said: "At this one we are going to give everyone a boilersuit and a game card and they have to pedal round the city and at each point there will be chalk, stickers, pens, and even some artists for you to decorate your boilersuit.
"We are going to ask them to do things like mark where their liver is, or cut a bit out, then we will all head to a final destination where the best decorated person will be chosen."
Numbers are steadily growing at the events, with about 60 taking part in a "boys versus girls" alleycat ride two months ago where the boys wrote clues for the girls and vice versa.
Mr Harris said: "It is all very tongue in cheek."
Carrying on the art theme, the event will start at a private viewing of art collective artisjustaword's exhibition at Lolapoluza.
Money will be raised for Frontiers with £2 donations to take part.
Mr Harris said: "We are trying to support all the different things we really feel passionately about, so cycling, art, and also the charity work."
