JIMMY LAL, 38, of Nowell Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to harassing a woman in Oxford by sending her unwanted text messages between April 30 and May 24 last year and threatened to turn up at her home. Lal received a community order with 120 hours of unpaid work, up to 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days and a restraining order banning him from contacting the victim directly or indirectly until July 9, 2024. Lal was ordered to pay £180 in costs and surcharge.
HUW THOMAS, 60, of Sinodun Road, Didcot, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman in Didcot last August and damaging a kitchen window. He was sentenced to a community order with 150 hours of unpaid work, must wear an alcohol abstinence monitoring tag for 60 days and complete the Building Better Relationships programme with the probation service. He was ordered to pay a total of £485 in compensation.
OMAR ILEBIYI, 28, of Lyneham Close, Witney, admitted driving a Toyota Yaris on A415 Standlake Road without due care and attention and while over the legal cannabis drug-driving limit. He was fined £500, banned from the roads for a year and a half and ordered to pay £285 in costs and surcharge.
ANDREW SMITH, 40, of Barry Avenue, Bicester, pleaded guilty to three counts of shoplifting from Sainsbury’s in Bicester. He stole steaks and bottles of whiskey. He was ordered to pay £30 in compensation and was banned from Sainsbury’s in Pioneer Square or any shops in Bicester that are members of the ‘Cherwell Crime Partnership’. The ban lasts until January 9, 2024.
LUCAS WILKINSON, 26, of Thurnscoe, near Rotherham in Yorkshire, admitted handling a stolen 19-plate Golf R worth £40,000. He was fined £1,538 and ordered to pay £239 in costs and surcharge.
MATTHEW CHIDDINGTON, 31, of Farmers Close, Witney, pleaded guilty to drink driving a Ford Transit in Witney High Street on December 2 last year. Tests showed he had 56mcgs of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35. He was fined £288, banned from driving for a year and must pay £200 in costs and surcharge.
OSMAN RANA, 29, of Boundary Brook Road, Oxford, admitted driving an Audi A5 on Garsington Road, Oxford while disqualified and uninsured. He was fined £480, banned from driving for three months and ordered to pay £281 in costs and surcharge.
TERENCE HEDLEY, 49, of Gwyneth Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of blood for analysis in Abingdon last February. Hedley, who is currently serving a crown court jail sentence for dangerous driving, was given 16 weeks’ imprisonment by the district judge. She banned him from driving for five years.
ALEX CLIFTON, 24, of Maiden Road, Bodicote, admitted driving a Mitsubishi Colt in Banbury last August while disqualified from driving and uninsured. He was jailed for 52 weeks and banned from driving for 12 months. The court record noted that Clifton had been subject to a suspended sentence at the time of the latest offence and had bought the car despite being disqualified from driving.
MARK RUSHBY, 20, of Ruskin Walk, Bicester, admitted being concerned in supplying almost 3.5g of cannabis in Bicester last April and possession of £90 ‘dirty’ – criminally acquired – cash. He was given a six month mental health treatment order and banned from going to Spider Park in Bicester for a year. Rushby was ordered to pay £180 in costs and surcharge.
