The trial of the man accused of murdering his Botley housemate is due to begin today at Oxford Crown Court.
Eugen Coman, 34, is said by prosecutors to have stabbed Russian-born Leonid Laboshin to death at their home in Pinnocks Way on October 17, 2021.
His trial, which is listed to begin at 10.30am this morning in courtroom one, is expected to last up to two weeks.
Following Mr Laboshin’s death in October 2021, the man’s family described him as ‘a caring and loving son, brother and uncle’.
They said of the 31-year-old computer programmer, who moved from Russia to Oxford to work on the ‘timely detection of cancer’: “He loved to play guitar and learnt to play the violin and piano. He loved music.”
