Team members from Launton Grange care home in Bicester are digging out their walking boots in aid of UK charity, Maggie’s Centres, who offer support to people with cancer and their families.

The staff at Launton Grange have challenged themselves to walk 50 miles throughout February to raise money and awareness for the charity.

Cathy Talbot, the Centre Fundraising Manager at Maggie’s in Oxford, said: “We are so grateful to Launton Grange for taking on this challenge to raise funds for our Maggie’s.

“We couldn’t do the work that we do without this kind of support, so it really does mean so much.

“Fundraisers like this will mean we’re able to continue the work that we do to help people live better with cancer. Thank you.”

This comes after Launton Grange has hosted several fundraisers for other charities, such as the Little Princess Fund and the Mental Health Foundation.

Stephanie Eley, Home Manager at Launton Grange, said: “We’re so lucky to have such an exceptional, supportive team at Launton Grange.

“Everyone goes above and beyond for our residents and for our community, and I’m so proud of them for offering a helping hand to another worthy charity.”
