A school cook has retired after 33 years’ service at an Oxfordshire primary school.
Liz Smy worked as a catering supervisor at Edward Feild Primary School in Kidlington until earlier this month.
She and her children also attended the school.
Mrs Smy said: “I just loved the school and the environment that I worked in, seeing the children every day.
“I absolutely loved my job.”

Staff at Edward Feild Primary School organised a series of celebrations to mark Mrs Smy’s three decades at the school.
One of the teachers wrote a song and the children sang it for Mrs Smy in the dining hall on her last day.

She was also treated to a meal out with the staff and her family.
Mrs Smy said: “It was quite an emotional day and I was totally spoilt.
“It goes to show just how much you are appreciated!

“I will miss it dreadfully, but I still have friendships from the school which will continue in the future which is really nice.”
Headteacher Simon Jackson said: “For 33 years Liz Smy has been at the heart of our school - cooking almost one million dinners for our children.
“Liz will be greatly missed by all, as she was always prepared to go the extra mile to ensure that all children were nourished and nurtured.”
In her retirement, Mrs Smy is looking forward to travelling and exploring places in England that she and her husband are yet to visit.
