A man who was wanted on recall to prison has been found, arrested and taken to custody.
The police presence in Market Square, Witney this morning was due to an incident involving this man.
The government’s website explains what a recall to prison is: “An offender can be taken straight back to prison if they have been released on licence or parole and they break the rules of their probation.

“This is known as a recall. Their offender manager will tell them why they’ve been recalled.”
There are three types of recall.
Fixed-term recalls, where offenders are sent back to prison for either 14 or 28 days, standard recalls, which see offenders return to prison until the end of their sentence and intermediate sentence recalls, where the case is sent to a parole board.
