There are reports of an increased security presence outside the Holiday Inn Express on Grenoble Road next to Kassam Stadium.
The car park has been closed off - but police have not commented on why this is the case.
Back in November 2022, the housing of asylum seekers in the hotel sparked a row after police forces and local authorities were not informed.

A Home Office spokesperson said: “The number of people arriving in the UK who require accommodation has reached record levels and has put our asylum system under incredible strain.
“The use of hotels to house asylum seekers is unacceptable – there are currently more than 45,500 asylum seekers in hotels costing the UK taxpayer £5.6 million a day.”
Oxford City Council and the Holiday Inn have not responded when contacted for comment.
Thames Valley Police has said it was not aware of any specific incidents in connection with the hotel.
