Rolls of Astroturf were torched on a farm near Faringdon.

Officers from Thames Valley Police’s rural crime taskforce are investigating the fire as a potential arson.

Police were called by the fire brigade at around 4.30pm on Sunday, February 12, that several ‘large rolls’ of astroturf had been set alight on a farm near Shellingford, south Oxfordshire.

A spokesman for the rural crime taskforce said: “We are appealing for witnesses [who] may have been in the area at the time or have information relating to the fire to contact us.”

Any information can be reported by calling Thames Valley Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
