A 27-year-old student who admitted using a fake passport to enrol at Oxford Brookes University has walked free from court.
Oxford Crown Court heard Nigerian Ashley Campbell of Oxford Road, Cowley, used the passport last September because he could not afford to pay the fees for foreign students on the environmental science degree he wanted to study.
Yesterday Judge Bruce McIntyre gave Campbell a six-month jail sentence, suspended for two years, and ordered him to undertake 150 hours unpaid work.
