A group of artists has created knitted post box toppers and tree hangers to help “spread some cheer”.
The crocheting group, which goes by the name ‘the yarnbombers’, placed their knitted work on top of post boxes in Tesco on Lakeview Drive, and hung knitted heart pieces on trees in Garth Park.

One of the artists, who wishes to stay anonymous, but calls themselves ‘I wonder who did that’, said: “The yarnbombers decided to make the topper in Tesco and the hearts in Garth Park just to put a smile on people’s faces and to brighten their day.
“We are always overhearing lovely comments.
“It’s such a gloomy time of year and everyone is struggling financially, it’s nice to cheer everyone up.”
