A MAN has been charged in connection with the killing of a goose in Abbey Meadows in Abingdon.
Mark Flintham, 54, from Abingdon but of no fixed abode, has been charged with one count of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal on January 18.
The charge in connection with a wildlife crime incident relates to an incident on August 10 last year where an offender killed a goose and walked off with it in the Abbey Meadows area at around 3pm.

Flintham is due to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on February 21 in relation to the incident.

Geese are a protected species. They are protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. This Act makes it an offence to kill, injure, damage or remove their nests without a licence.
