Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service has paid an emotional tribute to the Scottish firefighter who died after a fire at an Edinburgh department store.
Firefighter Barry Martin, 38, from Fife passed away after he was critically injured tackling a blaze at the historic Jenners building in Edinburgh, Police Scotland confirmed.
The Oxfordshire fire service changed their profile picture and released a statement in tribute to Mr Martin and his colleagues in the Scottish Fire and Rescue on Friday.
The service posted the updated picture: "Our thoughts are with all our colleagues in Scottish Fire and Rescue and with Firefighter Barry Martin’s Family and Friends".
Mr Martin was one of five firefighters taken to hospital during the city centre blaze.
He was based in the Scottish capital and had been in a critical condition at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh until he died on Friday.
Flowers had been left outside the building on Friday evening, with some bouquets stuffed in the fence that now surrounds the building, and others laid at the front of the Princes Street landmark.
It comes as other Oxfordshire-based fire services post tributes to the late firefighter.
Chipping Norton shared a moving tribute of the Union flag in black and white with a message: "A very sad day. Our thoughts are with all our colleagues in Scottish Fire and Rescue and with Firefighter Barry Martin’s Family and Friends. Rest in peace Barry."
Witney, Abingdon and Bampton fire stations also paid tribute by also changing their profile picture to a powerful image of a plain black background with a red horizontal line.
